During this downtime, I’ve been going back through old sessions and re-editing them for fun. Two things I’ve noticed while doing this. First off I’m too hard on myself about sessions needing to be perfect to share them. Secondly, sometimes I need to walk away and come back to gain a new perspective. As an Oregon elopement photographer scouting out amazing locations like this is just one of the perks of the job. We went to Silver Falls state park for Arika and Josh’s engagement session and it was magical, to say the least. We even had some furry forest friends make an appearance during our shoot. If you’re thinking of eloping at this state park I would go in the early spring when the falls are at full capacity. The water levels were pretty low when we went. There is an adorable lodge area at this park where you can have a small wedding and it even has a cafe/bar area. If you want to hike the full loop there are about 7 different waterfalls. We only did a short part of the loop but got to see two amazing falls. I recommend going earlier in the day when it’s less crowded. PLEASE pack out any trash you bring in I saw too many plastic bottles and trash on this trail. It’s your duty to keep these beautiful places clean. There is a big open area with picnic tables and a gazebo that would be perfect for a romantic date night. The light in that area in the afternoon is glowing and we saw a family of deer while we were there!
