I’m listening to Ella Fitzgerald’s “Summertime” while putting this blog post together and it’s giving me all the feels. When I get a chance to photograph two people in love this is so intimate and special to me. I try to connect with my couples on a deeper level to ensure I create works of art with them not just of them. I want my couples to play and have fun and really soak in that intimacy. That’s when the magic happens. When it feels like I’m no longer there. Or it at least appears that way in my photos. This summertime lake session was giving me all the vintage vibes. From Raquel’s dress to Coltons hair-do and shirt. It almost felt like we were in a movie something cheesy and romantic like the notebook for sure. That’s the energy these two put off. Like they had been in love in every lifetime. As if nothing could keep them apart. It was contagious with all the laughter going on. I hope this summertime lake session inspires you to have fun at your own couples session. Live a little and jump in the lake with your clothes on or off. It doesn’t matter how you do it just do something spontaneous next time you’re out with your lover or friends!
Never look back and say “We should’ve” look back and say “Remember when we did…”
