Grand Teton Elopement Packages
If you’re looking for a Grand Teton elopement experience that leaves you glowing and overwhelmed with love then you’re in the right place. My name is Autumn Marie and I promise you no one is as passionate about this place as me! First, let me tell you a little bit about my history with Grand Teton National Park because it literally changed my life. When I was just 18 years old I went through a lot of family and personal challenges that set my life course for a loop. I was in a dark place in my life and my college plans went out the door along with my career dreams. I had a friend that told me about a small cabin resort that resided on the lake shores of Jackson Lake called Signal Mountain Lodge.
So I sold all my belongings and loaded up my car and set out to work a summer job in the Grand Teton National Park. I was so unsure of what I was doing and cried the whole 23-hour drive to the Teton’s until I turned the corner and saw the mountains in all their glory. I was so emotionally moved that I had to pull over and breathe in that mountain air and just cry happy tears. At that moment I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be in my life. Over that summer I made friends from around the world and learned so much about the park that visitors just don’t get to experience. All of those secret spots and insider knowledge are my recipe for carefully crafting each of my Grand Teton Elopement Packages. Below you will find all the info you need to get started with your planning or better yet reach out to me and let me take the stress away and plan everything for you!
How do you elope in Grand Teton National Park?
First thing first, you will need to get a special use permit from the National Park Service office. Here is the breakdown of how to do that step by step!
Keep in mind that special use permits are on a first-come-first-serve basis, so be sure to apply as soon as possible. I would do this a year to 6 months in advance at the latest!
- Fill out this application.
- On the application, be sure to note if you are applying for either Reserved Site-Specific Ceremony Permits or Small Dispersed Ceremony Permits
- Under the “List of Equipment” section, be sure to enter your photographer/planner’s contact information (i.e., name, email, website, and phone number). If you haven’t hired me yet (hint, hint), email this information to grte_visitor_services@nps.gov once we have secured our date together!
- Email the completed application to grte_visitor_services@nps.gov no less than 30 days prior to the event.
- Pay the $200 application fee electronically by visiting www.pay.gov.
- Once your application has been reviewed and payment confirmed, you will be emailed a preliminary permit within 7-10 days.
- You will then have a week to review, sign, and return the draft permit back to the email.
- The final permit will then be emailed back. You must have a printed copy of the fully executed permit on-site during the event.

Where can I get married in Teton National Park?
While there are endless photo opportunities in and around the park for your Jackson Hole wedding day you will need to consider a few things. If you are planning on having a ceremony with more than 12 people Grand Teton National Park does NOT allow weddings or elopements to take place at any location outside of the six designated ceremony sites (this includes your photographer, officiants, etc.). This doesn’t mean we can’t go running around the park after your ceremony and take photos in all the pretty places! If you have less than 12 people, you can elope almost anywhere in the Grand Teton National Park aside from off-limits areas.
How to Get a Marriage License in Wyoming?
Don’t forget to make sure that you schedule a time to get your marriage license before your ceremony from the county clerk’s office in Jackson Hole, WY. Both partners must be there to retrieve the license and do not require you to be a resident. The license is $30, and you will need at least two witnesses to sign your officiant cannot be one of your witnesses. You must return the license to the country clerk’s office within a year of getting married.
