Thinking about getting some family photos while visiting Lake Tahoe, CA? There are a few things you might want to keep in mind when looking for a Lake Tahoe family photographer. One of them being someone who knows the best locations to go to! I’ve been shooting family photos in the Lake Tahoe area for years. Every year I scout out the best new and old locations to shoot at. Depending upon the time of the year and the weather those locations that you shot at last year might not look the same or be accessible anymore. Plus every year in the Lake Tahoe area the wildflowers bloom in different patterns and new areas.

My best advice to anyone taking family photos in Tahoe is to find a Lake Tahoe family photographer who is used to the winds, the light that reflects off the lake and the huge crowds on the beaches. I always encourage all of my families to bring a change of clothes (yes even you parents) because you can’t go outside and play in Lake Tahoe without getting a little dirty. I always bring plenty of blankets, bug spray, a ton of patience and a creative mindset to all of my Lake Tahoe family portrait sessions. I advise all my parents to bring snacks and wipes with you to your session. Let’s face it kids need to be bribed for photos and they WILL get dirty.
